On Sunday, December 16, 2023, I embarked on a quest to connect with fellow veteran-owned businesses for an upcoming episode of our podcast. This search led me to a remarkable organization: Veterans Growing America (VGA). Intrigued by their mission and impact, I reached out and was promptly invited to join their orientation the following Tuesday. The goal was to set up an Alpha VI Battalion pop-up shop for the weekend of December 23-24, just before Christmas.
The event was nothing short of inspirational. It was an incredible opportunity to engage with veteran-owned businesses and spread the message of Alpha VI Battalion. Our presence at the event wasn't just about showcasing our products; it was a chance to share the resources we are diligently building for our community. We displayed samples of our Home Buyers Guide and Infantry Resume Packages, giving attendees a glimpse into the valuable tools we offer veterans transitioning to civilian life.
What stood out the most was the camaraderie and mutual support among the veteran entrepreneurs. Each conversation was a learning experience, an exchange of ideas, and a step towards building stronger connections within the veteran business community.
Veterans Growing America is more than just an organization; it's a movement dedicated to supporting the growth of veteran and military spouse-owned businesses. Their mission to provide a forum for these entrepreneurs and their partnership with local, state, and federal veteran organizations is pivotal in increasing brand awareness for veteran businesses. VGA actively engages and uplifts the veteran business community through local events and marketing programs.
Their vision to become the premier events and technology company supporting veteran and military spouses is reflected in their actions and initiatives. The values VGA stands for - growing relationships and opportunities worldwide for veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs - resonated deeply with our team at Alpha VI Battalion.
This collaboration with VGA was more than just an event; it was the beginning of what we hope will be a long-standing relationship. Seeing Americans coming together to support the 'Shop Veteran First' initiative was heartwarming.
For those in the DMV area who have a business and are looking for a location to set up a pop-up shop or want to connect with VGA, I highly recommend visiting their website at Veterans Growing America: https://veteransgrowingamerica.com/. Their support and resources are invaluable for veteran business owners looking to make their mark.
At Alpha VI Battalion, we are excited about future collaborations with VGA and eagerly anticipate our return with new designs and products in mid-January. Partnerships like these empower us to continue our mission and support our fellow veterans in meaningful and impactful ways.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to grow and evolve. Thank you for being a part of our story.
The Alpha VI Team.
