Things They Don't Tell You When You Follow God Closely — God Will Use the Thing You Are Least Confident About

This is post 18 in Things They Don't Tell You When You Follow God Closely, a weekly Sunday series from Alpha VI Battalion.

They Did Not Tell You the Weakness Was Part of the Plan

You have been working around it your whole life. The thing you are least confident about. The area where you feel most exposed, most likely to fail, most certain that if anyone knew how inadequate you felt here, they would question everything else about you.

You have been hiding it. Compensating for it. Hoping God would work around it or remove it so you could operate from a position of strength instead.

And then God points directly at it and says that is where I am going to build.

The Pattern Is Consistent

Moses told God he could not speak. God made him the primary spokesperson for the deliverance of an entire people. Gideon told the angel that his clan was the weakest in Manasseh and he was the least in his family. God called him a mighty man of valor and used him to defeat an army of one hundred and thirty five thousand with three hundred men.

Esther was an orphan who had hidden her identity. God used that specific combination of vulnerability and position to save her people. Paul's thorn in the flesh, whatever it was, was left because God said My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in weakness.

The weakness is not disqualifying. In the hands of God it is often the very thing that makes the assignment undeniably His work rather than yours.

When You Are Weak He Is Strong

The reason God builds through your weakest point is not cruelty. It is clarity. When the thing God accomplishes through you is in the exact area where you have no natural ability, nobody can attribute the outcome to your talent. The vessel being used is clearly insufficient on its own. Which makes the power moving through it clearly not originating from the vessel.

That is the testimony. Not that you were strong enough. That God was faithful enough to work through someone who was not.

Stop hiding the weakness. Start offering it. God knows where it is. He has been waiting for you to stop pretending it is not there.

Stay in it, Light Bringer.
