Wolfpack Wednesday — When the Smoke Clears

Wolfpack Wednesday — When the Smoke Clears

Last week, we shared the story of Kevin Lloyd — a veteran fighting the long-term effects of burn pit exposure.

A few days ago, Kevin passed away.

This week isn’t about retelling his story.
It’s about why he chose to speak up in the first place.

Kevin didn’t reach out for attention.
He didn’t want sympathy.
He wanted veterans to listen — to take their health seriously, to register, to get checked, and to stop waiting until something is wrong.

He knew what was happening to him.
And instead of going quiet, he used what time he had left to warn the rest of us.

That’s courage.
That’s service long after the uniform comes off.

If you were deployed near burn pits — Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Qatar, or anywhere those fires burned — register in the VA Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry.
It takes minutes.

Minutes Kevin wished every veteran would take before they end up in the same fight he did.

At Alpha VI Battalion, we’re not a massive company.
We don’t have millions to throw into foundations.
But we’re trying — and Kev’s story reminds us why we keep pushing.

When you buy awareness designs on our site, like Save the Veterans, a portion of proceeds goes toward real situations, real families, real veterans.
We can’t fix everything yet.
One day, we hope we can do more.

For now, we honor Kevin by continuing what he started — raising awareness, sharing resources, and reminding veterans:

Your fight isn’t over.
Your life still matters.
And no one in this Pack fights alone.
